If you are interested in becoming an armchair volunteer with knus, our most flexible and low commitment role, simply review the information on this page and submit your application.

Are you age of majority and based in the Canada?

You must have reached the age of majority and be permanently residing in Canada to take part.

Do you have a laptop?

This role can be completed from anywhere, whether you are relaxing at home or travelling, as long as you have a laptop and a reliable internet connection.

How much time can you give?

As much or as little as you’d like. We’re flexible and aim to work around your availability.

Do you enjoy learning?

All volunteers receive training upon joining. You will also have access to our continuing education courses, giving you the opportunity to expand your knowledge, earn certificates, and enhance your résumé.

How does the role work?

In 2025, we launched our armchair volunteering initiative to help spread awareness of knus and to give people meaningful ways to contribute to improving mental health support across the United States.

We welcome volunteers to get involved in the ways that suit them best - whether that’s sharing content on social media, proofreading, taking part in surveys, sharing lived experiences, or contributing to our creative and impactful projects.

What do I need to provide to become an ambassador?

To volunteer with knus as an ambassador, you’ll need to complete a short application and an ID check. A basic background search is also required at no cost to you. This helps us ensure knus remains a safe and supportive place for everyone involved. Don’t worry - we’ll guide you through each step and support you along the way.

All training is provided by knus and our training partners. Training sessions are delivered online using video conferencing platforms such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
